Healthy Weight with Yoga & Ayurveda

Most of us count calories to maintain healthy weight, but our bodies are much more complex than mechanical instrument burning fuel to generate energy. Present state of our health is the result of unique DNA code we received from our parents and how we manifest our life and same concept defining your inherent nature coded in your DNA is known as Prakirti in Ayurveda, way before we discovered the DNA. Ayurveda is the oldest known discipline of health science. The deviation from the Prakiri is known as Dosa and in this workshop we will get an introduction to Ayurveda and explore our Prakriti and Dosas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha). Imbalance of your Dosas is root cause of most health problems including the unhealthy body weight. We will also learn meditative eating and selected Pranayam (Breathing practices) and Asana (yoga poses) to re-balance our Dosas and re-ignite the Agni (digestive fire and metabolism) to help you shed extra pounds. Let’s begin your journey of positive transformation with most ancient science of life with modern scientist.
Rahul holds PhD in Life Science and Diploma in Yoga Therapy. Rahul is medical research scientist with US Public Health Services and adjunct faculty at International University of Yoga and Ayurveda (http://www.iu-ya.org/phd). He is frequent speaker at yoga and Ayurveda conferences and offering workshops about integration of ancient yoga practices into the realistic modern life style. His knowledge of Hindi and Sanskrit has enabled him to explore the ancient literature in the original script. He is modern day scientist studying genomics and Molecular Medicine, and committed for bringing the authentic yoga practices as a part of routine life style inspired from ancient sciences.
